A while back, UncommonGoods sent me a few items to review. It’s taken me too long with all of this crazy life stuff going on lately, but I’d like to share this with you now! They’re also generously hosting a giveaway here this week, so be sure to keep reading and enter!
First of all, if you haven’t heard of UncommonGoods, they are an awesome site that sells unique gifts for all occasions. I stumbled across them quite a while back and love browsing through all the new gift ideas. You might remember that I included some items from their site in my Valentine Or Anytime Gift Ideas For Guys post. Of course it’s not just for guys, it’s for everyone – though they are sort of a perfect place to visit right now with Father’s Day coming up soon (Oh hey, my birthday’s coming up too and they have some pretty cool birthday gifts… just sayin.)
It was hard for me to pick from all the things on their site. They have lots of cute scarves, necklaces and other fun accessories. I ended up choosing two bracelets – one that’s made of recycled bike chain and one that’s made of recycled guitar strings. I love the idea of reusing things upcycling.

I wore the guitar string bracelet in this outfit post earlier in the month but unfortunately forgot to get close-up pictures of any of my accessories. They have a few different colors but I love this sky blue color (called “Totally Teal” on the website) especially since I don’t own many things that are blue and I’m trying to incorporate more colors into my wardrobe this year. It’s really comfortable and I was happy to find that it fit me! I usually have a problem with bracelets being too big for my puny little wrists and falling down onto my hands but the way this one is designed it should fit just about anyone – there is no closure so it automatically adjusts itself to the size of your wrist if your wrist is bigger and it’s super easy to put on.

I’ve been wearing the bicycle chain bracelet a LOT. It’s a little trickier to put on but after trying a few times I’ve got it down to a science. They had the option when ordering of either a small or large size which once again is awesome for me and my little wrists because the size is just perfect. It’s a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be and I can tell it’s going to last forever. I also really like that it’s not a highly polished silver – it’s more neutral so it goes with everything (hence I’ve been wearing it a lot). This is actually probably my favorite bracelet right now. Kind of funny because I don’t even know how to ride a bike, but hey, it looks cool.

The other item I chose was not something wearable – surprise! It’s actually this reclaimed tin and wood magnetic frame. Once again, you can tell I’m in to the handmade and recycled stuff. I’ve really been liking the color brown as well as sort of rustic looking things for my house lately, so this is a perfect fit in my new decor. It comes with cute little button magnets and a hanger on the back which was nice because I could put it up and start using it right away. I guess it’s meant to be a photo frame of sorts, where you attach a photo to it with the magnets but I’ve been using it as a mini memo board and inspiration board since I don’t have a lot of physical photos, though I like that idea and might use it like that in the future. It’s really well made, you can tell a lot of attention goes in to the making of them. And it smells good… like wood. Is that a weird thing to say? I just love the smell of wood so it made me happy right when I took it out of the package.
Anyhoo, those are the things that I chose. Now it’s your turn! As I mentioned, UncommonGoods has generously offered to give away a $50 gift certificate to one lucky reader of Kelsi Does Hair!
