It seems like pastel colored hair is all the rage these days. I’m seeing it all over the place, and get lots of questions about how to achieve pastel hair on my tumblr. While I gave up fantasy colors for my own hair, I still think it’s just beautiful. I’ve collected lots and lots of pretty hair pictures on Pinterest; here are a few of my favorites.

I sometimes miss having my blonde and pink hair when I look back at pictures of myself. I really liked having blonde around my face, and the pink was my signature color for 10 years. I do really like my natural color too though, and I definitely don’t miss how haggard my hair always felt, so I’ll just continue to enjoy it on other people :)

(I tried to find the original sources for these pictures from Pinterest, but like many photos they lead to links through tumblr, flickr, weheartit, google and the like. If anyone knows the ORIGINAL source, of any of these, please let me know so I can link them.)

It IS all the rage right now. and i love it! I would totally join in if I wasn’t working for the preppiest of preppy shoe brands haha
Yeah, unfortunately a lot of jobs require you to have “normal” hair, it’s pretty sad. If I had naturally blonde hair and didn’t have to bleach the bejeebus out of it to put color in it I might still be doing brights and pastels.

i love the lilac/turquoise curls. I see so many beautiful hair colours all over at the minute, damn having an office job!
i’m thinking of doing a streak of my hair either turquoise or minty green for my holidays. rebel rebel. haha.
You should! Just do it underneath so you can hide it. Or you could get some clip in pieces of color to wear when you’re not at work; I’ve made some of those for my clients who’s employers won’t let them have colors in their hair.

I LOVE this! So wish my job would permit me to do this to my own hair.
It’s so sad that so many jobs are restrictive of hair color. Even when I was interviewing at salons in Seattle and had pink hair, most of them told me that if I wanted the job I’d have to color my hair to a natural color. Naturally, I declined. But I just think it’s so ridiculous the limitations that employers give. Someday people will be accepting of pretty colors :)
I work for the government so I don’t think their policy on hair colour will change any-time soon! lol Oh well, a girl can dream!

Thank you! I’m so happy you found my blog as well :)
I’ve had blue hair for a very long time, but since imported hairdye is VERY expensive and national hairdye only lasts a week or less, I got tired and just dyed brown again. It was a very sad day.
When I get a really stable job I’ll probably go back to blue, it’s just so lovely <3
Blue does tend to fade out really quickly, which is unfortunate. I had the best luck with warm colors like pink and red. It definitely takes a lot of upkeep.
This post really makes my wish for pastel hair even bigger now haha. I want it so badly but I don’t think it would look nice and I am too worried about frying my hair. Maybe I’ll find a nice wig someday…
A wig could work ;) That was the problem I had with pastel and blonde, it was sooo damaging to my hair.
