I should probably explain this at the beginning of every TILT for newcomers. Every week on Thursday, I list off some of the things I loved that week (hence, Things I Love Thursday) and want to share or remember. Whether they are things that happened, conversations I had, articles or blog posts I read, pictures I was keen on, songs I heart or whathaveyou, it’s just a short rundown of things that made me happy. This week has been a very long and lonely one for me -the completely opposite of what was going on during my last TILT in which I was very un-lonely and therefore it went by much too quickly. I find that it’s weeks like this in which most things seem like such a bummer that putting together my TILTs help the most, to remind me of all the GOOD stuff that there still is in my life, even when I feel like the best things are halfway (or all the way) across the world.
♥ This blog, Advanced Style made me smile. I hope I am this awesome when I grow up. I want this lady’s sunglasses so badly! (via The Dainty Squid)

♥ My roommate said “She’s depressed” and I thought she said “cheese to breast.” Hearing aids, anyone?
♥ Got my tickets to see Kim Boekbinder! She’s pre-selling shows on kickstarter, which I think is genius. If you live in Seattle, you need to buy your tickets now – our city is lagging behind! She’s also doing shows in lots of other cities across the country, go check her out in all her guitar and ukelele awesomeness for only $10 a pop.
♥ Anthony Bourdain (No Reservations) visited Chernobyl on this week’s new episode. Love.
♥ Speaking of Kim Boekbinder, and and Amanda Palmer (The Dresden Dolls) did a beautiful Ukelele cover of Such Great Heights by The Postal Service.

♥ Got woken up by a phone call from South Korea (this most of all) <3
♥ Did a new haul post, it's been a while! Haul: Thrifty Goodwill Goodness!
♥ And I got my 200th “like” on my facebook fan page and decided to do a little Sephora gift card giveaway to celebrate. Go enter! It ends August 21st!
♥ If you’ve been here before, you might have noticed that I gave Kelsi Does Hair a little makeover; what do you think?
♥ Quote from Louis CK on the things we complain about.”I hate Verizon!” “Why? Did they fire you and take away your pension?” “No… just a couple times it was weird for a second.”
♥And this great article on why handmade is “so expensive”. I think this translates into other small businesses as well, such as mine (salon), small restaurants, and anything else that is not a big chain or mass produced.
♥ Listening to Her Space Holiday.
What were some of the highlights of your week? Comment, share, love!

(also, it took me a VERY long time to figure out how to say KUNT in a way that made sense with me being “angry”. I’m not particularly pleased with this version but it gets the job done. Can’t be up all night thinking of what spells ‘kunt’)
